Z Budapest presents Goddess Festival 2012!

Please join us for Z Budapest’s women-only Goddess Festival 2012! Women are gathering again in the Redwood Forest of the Northern California Santa Cruz Mountains, September 7th-9th.

Entertainment will include a wide array of Goddess music and musical performances. We will have rituals lead by Z Budapest happening every day.

We have two days of powerfully sacred workshops lead by some of the most spiritually focused women of our times. We have ordination rituals. Initiation rituals. Musical Goddess sing-a-longs! Drum-a-longs! And a swimming pool for the heat of the day! Endless forests to explore as you commune with the ancient Redwoods! All of Nature is just a step outside your cabin door … and wonderful Sisters to share the whole experience with.

All meals are prepared for us. There is no work duty. No food to cook. No dishes to do. The Camp’s staff does it all for us.

You can attend the workshops, listen to music, you can shop with the vendors, you can walk amongst the redwoods or you can rest. What you do when is up to you.

At night we light a huge bonfire in the center of our sacred ritual space deep in the heart of the redwood forest and then, we gather round. We sing. We dance. We worship the Goddess. We recognize the goddess in each other. We celebrate life!

Blessings Sisters in Goddess,

Over forty years ago I started a Women’s Spirituality Movement, and happily it took hold. I felt like celebrating this Movement and the Goddess. So, again I agreed to do one more goddess festival.

I wanted to take a moment of your time to invite you to participate in the upcoming gathering of the Goddess Festival 2012 event. I’ve produced a good number of Goddess Festivals over the years, and I’m ready to say that this one is going to be amazing and filled with talented Goddess women, song, dance, ritual and sisterhood. This Gathering is going to be a very special one.

In the past, I’ve hired special entertainment and teachers for the festivals. The women who are teaching and entertaining us have all devoted their time in support of the Women’s Spirituality Movement. It’s just like it was when we started this Movement. We have come full circle.

And speaking of taking things back to their origins, I am taking us all the way back to the beginning of the Movement because sadly some outside influences have caused women to no longer understand real magic. Real rituals. I want you to understand and experience a real ritual, and that is something that happens in person for women-born-female.

The Goddess Festival is held at our beloved camp in the coastal redwoods of Northern California. It is something between staying at a hotel and camping. We have beds, but you need to bring your own bedding and towels, and we highly recommend bringing a twin air mattress.

What I want from you: Every woman who attends this Festival should know the Charge of the Star Goddess. It’s in the Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries, and it’s powerful when spoken together.

Each woman should bring her red girdle if she has one. Girdles/cords are discussed in the Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries. I will be offering an initiation ritual into the Dianic path. You will be given a single red cord if you take initiation with me. That cord can be woven into a new girdle or into an existing girdle after the ritual. So, if you don’t have a girdle, it’s okay to wait until after initiation.

We’re doing a Herstorical Documentary of this Gathering too. We are filming as much of the weekend as we can. Next we will create a DVD of the festival. It will be a great DVD to remember your weekend, and others will appreciate seeing what really goes on at a Goddess festival. Projects like this are what have helped the Women’s Spirituality Movement to outreach to women all over the world. And, you’ll be a part of it!

You can stay in a cabin with the other festival attendees or you can bring your tent and camp outside under the redwoods. Either way, the price is the same.

Diana Paxson

Diana Paxson has written or collaborated on more than a score of books, including a number of historical fantasies set in Dark Age Europe and most of the Avalon books, and has founded or otherwise instigated, midwifed, or re-written several organizations religious or otherwise.

In 1988 I began an intensive study of the runes and started a rune class for which I developed the materials that became Taking up the Runes.  The next year I began work on recovering the ancient oracular practice of  Scandinavia, and started a group that could present such rituals at festivals. The story of this work appears in The Way of the Oracle.

Max Dashu

Max Dashu founded the Suppressed Histories Archives in 1970 to research and document women’s history from an international perspective. She has photographed some 15,000 slides and created 100 slideshows on female power and heritages transhistorically.

For nearly 40 years, Dashu has presented hundreds of slide talks at universities, community centers, bookstores, schools, libraries, prisons, galleries, festivals and conferences around North America. Her work bridges the gap between academia and grassroots education. It foregrounds indigenous women passed over by standard histories and highlights female spheres of power retained even in patriarchal societies.

Dashu is known for her expertise on ancient female iconography in world archaeology, goddess traditions, and women shamans. She has also done extensive research on mother-right cultures and the origins of domination.

Zsuzsanna “Z” Budapest, D.Min (h.c.), is the founding mother of the Women’s Spirituality Movement. Z founded the Goddess College, an online school for the Dianic tradition and Goddess studies for women. She authored nine books embracing spirituality; including The Holy Book of Women’s Mysteries, Grandmother Moon, Celestial Wisdom and Summoning the Fates. She has appeared on several TV shows and documentaries, as well as hosting her own show, 13^th Heaven. Through her non-profit organization, Women’s Spirituality Forum, Z’s vision for the future is that of peace and abundance, expressed in female values, to dominate the world’s consciousness.

As women of faith, we are growing into our full sacred integrity. We believe the Goddess shows Herself to us daily through all nature and inspires us through wisdom.
